Window Washing in Halfmoon

We wash your windows by hand, inside and out, so the glass is clear and the frames, sills and screens look cared for. If we find a cracked pane, a fogged seal or storm damage, we photograph it and tell you plainly what we see.

Spotless glass and a straight report on your windows

Dust is only part of it. Pollen in spring, sap from trees, sprinkler hard water and the gray haze left by winter road grit all cloud the glass, and they can make a house look worn even when the siding is spotless.

Upper floors get a water-fed pole that runs purified water, and anything we can safely reach gets a scrubber and squeegee by hand. Purified water dries with no spots, which counts on modern low-e glass, since it should never see a razor or a harsh cleaner.

Working pane by pane, we catch things most homeowners never see. When we find storm damage or a failed seal, we take clear photos with dates and explain what they show. That can help if you decide to contact your insurer, but whether it's covered is always up to them.

What a window washing visit covers

  1. 01

    Exterior glass

Every reachable pane is scrubbed, rinsed and dried. Upper floors are washed from the ground with a water-fed pole wherever the glass allows it.

  2. 02

    Interior glass on request

We wear shoe covers, lay drop cloths under the window and wipe the inside glass by hand. You choose which rooms.

  3. 03

    Frames and sills

Vinyl, wood and aluminum frames are wiped down and sills are cleared of the dead insects and grit that settle there over a season.

  4. 04

    Screens

Screens are removed, brushed and rinsed, then set back in place. If a screen is torn or bent, we set it aside and show you rather than force it back in.

  5. 05

    Tracks on sliders and doors

Sliding door and window tracks are vacuumed and wiped so they glide again and drain the way they should.

  6. 06

    Damage notes and photos

Cracks, chips, fogged double panes and damaged frames are photographed and listed so you have a clear record of their condition on the day.

Questions about Window Washing?

Signs your windows are due

  • A haze that won't wipe off

Hard water and pollen bake onto glass in the sun. A quick wipe smears it around; a proper wash removes it.

  • Spots under the sprinkler line

White mineral rings low on the glass mean irrigation is hitting the windows. Left too long, minerals can etch the surface for good.

  • Fog between the panes

Moisture inside a double-pane window means the seal has failed. Washing cannot fix that, but we can document it so you know where things stand.

  • Sap, webs and grime after storms

Wind drives debris and sap onto glass, and spiders love the corners of sills. After a heavy season, a wash brings back the view and the curb appeal.

  • Sticky sliders

If the patio door drags, the track is often packed with grit. Clearing it saves wear on the rollers.

What the visit looks like

  1. 1

    Call for a free quote

Let us know your window count, how many floors the house has and whether you'd like inside, outside or both cleaned. We quote it free and pick a date with you.

  2. 2

    We look before we wash

When we get there, we go over the windows with you, mark any damage that's already there and photograph it before any cleaning starts.

  3. 3

    Washing with care

We take the screens off, scrub the glass and rinse it with purified water, then wipe the frames, sills and tracks. Inside, floors and furniture get covered before we begin.

  4. 4

    One last look with you

We check the glass from both sides, put the screens back and go over our photos and notes with you, including anything you may want to bring up with an insurer.

What moves the price

We price window washing on your actual windows, not a flat guess. We count panes and look at access before quoting, so you know the figure before any work starts.

Number and style of windows
A picture window goes faster than a divided-lite window with grids, which has far more edges and corners.
Height and access
Second-story glass, windows above decks and spots behind dense shrubs take more setup.
Inside, outside or both
Interior work adds time for protecting floors and moving furniture away from the glass.
Buildup and screens
Heavy hard water, paint overspray or sap needs extra work, and screens are quoted per screen.

Questions about window washing

Do you use a razor blade on the glass?

Not on modern coated or tempered glass. Scraping can scratch low-e coatings and tempered panes. We rely on scrubbers, purified water and the right cleaner for the spot.

Can you get fog out of my double-pane windows?

No. Fog between panes means the seal has failed and moisture is inside the unit, where no wash can reach. We photograph it and note which windows are affected so you can decide on repair or replacement.

Will you help if storm damage turns up?

We document what we find with dated photos and plain notes, and we explain what an adjuster will usually want to see. We do not act as your adjuster or promise what your policy covers; that decision stays with your insurer.

How often should windows be washed?

Most homes do well with a spring visit after pollen season and another in fall before the cold sets in. Homes near busy roads or under large trees may want more.

Do I need to be home?

For exterior-only work, no, as long as gates are unlocked. For interior work, someone needs to let us in, and we will go room by room at your pace.

Ready for clearer windows?

Give us a few details about your home and we will price the job before anything starts. We serve Halfmoon and the surrounding towns, including Clifton Park, Malta and Niskayuna.
