Permanent Exterior Lighting Installation in Halfmoon

We mount a slim, color-matched track along your roofline and fit it with app-controlled LEDs. It reads as trim by day and lights the house any color you choose at night, year-round, without hanging a single strand again.

Lighting that stays up after the holidays

Permanent lighting is a low-profile aluminum track fastened along the fascia or just under the drip edge, with individually addressable LEDs set inside it. In daylight it sits flat against the trim and is easy to miss from the street. After dark you pick warm white for an ordinary evening, a soft amber for the porch side, or a full holiday pattern, all from an app on your phone.

It suits homeowners who are done with ladders every November and with plastic clips that let go in the first ice storm. It also makes sense if you want year-round curb appeal and gentle light at the eaves and entries without adding more fixtures to the siding.

We plan every run around the house you actually have. That means where the track can sit without crowding the gutters, where the power supply and controller belong, and how each line will look from the driveway and the road.

What you get with an install

Track finished to match

The track gets a finish that blends into your fascia or trim. We cut and join it at every corner, peak and return so the run stays straight with no breaks.

Outdoor-sealed LEDs

Each light node is sealed for outdoor use and set at even intervals in the track. That even spacing lets the roofline look like a single clean line rather than scattered dots.

Controller and power supply

The power supply goes beside an outlet you already have outside or in the garage, and low-voltage wire runs from it. We hide the wire behind the track or in the soffit and seal each spot where it enters.

Schedules and app setup

We link the controller to your Wi-Fi, set the lights to come on at sunset and save several presets. We don't leave until you can change colors and timers on your own.

Thorough cleanup

We take away offcuts, boxes and leftover fasteners, and we look over the beds and paths under every run so nothing ends up in the mulch.

Signs permanent lighting is the right call

The yearly ladder routine
If you spend a cold weekend each fall hanging strands and another in January taking them down, a permanent track ends both jobs.
Strands that fail by midwinter
Freeze-thaw cycles and snow sliding off the roof pull clips loose and crack bulbs. A fastened track holds its line through the season.
Damage from old clips
Torn shingle tabs, bent gutter lips or nail holes in the fascia are common after years of temporary lights. Our track mounts to the trim and leaves the roofing alone.
Dark eaves and entries
A soft white along the roofline makes walkways and doors easier to see on long winter evenings, with no new fixtures on the walls.
You want more than December
Fourth of July, a birthday, a team's colors on game night. If you like the idea of changing the look through the year, this is built for it.

How the work runs

  1. 1

    Phone call and walkaround

It starts with a free quote by phone. We then visit to measure the roofline, look at the fascia and gutters, find the nearest outlet and take photos of the existing trim.

  2. 2

    Written layout and estimate

You receive a line-item estimate that shows each run, the track finish, the controller location and the number of zones. Nothing is added later without your say.

  3. 3

    Installation day

The crew sets ladders on protective pads, keeps clear of plantings and works one elevation at a time. On a typical single-family home the work fits in a day, though steep or tall roofs can take longer.

  4. 4

    Test and handoff

We light every zone, check for dark nodes and walk the property with you after dusk if you like. Then we hand over the app with your schedules already in place.

What sets the price

We price each job from the house in front of us, so two neighbors on one street can get very different quotes. We walk you through every line of the estimate and show where a different layout would bring the total up or down.

Linear footage
How many feet of roofline you light matters more than anything else. Some people do just the front of the house, while others light it all the way around.
Height and roof pitch
Reaching second-floor eaves, steep gables and tight dormers safely takes extra time and equipment.
Peaks, corners and zones
Every peak and corner needs a separate cut and joint, and dividing the house into zones you control separately calls for more wiring and controller capacity.
Power location
An outlet close to where the lights start keeps the wiring simple. When power is far from the run, bringing the low-voltage line over takes more work.

Common questions about permanent lighting

Does the track harm the roof or the gutters?
No. The track fastens into the fascia or trim board and never through the shingles. It stays clear of the gutter lip, so snow and water drain as before, and the small fastener holes are sealed.
Is the track noticeable in daylight?
Hardly. It is thin and finished in your trim color, so from the road it looks like part of the fascia. Neighbors tend to spot it only after dark, once it's lit.
Will it survive an upstate winter?
The LEDs are sealed and rated for outdoors, and the track is fastened in place instead of clipped, so sliding snow won't tug it off. Ice may still form on it like any outside surface, but the lights work without it being cleared.
What happens if ice or a storm damages the lights?
Give us a call. We come out, take photos of the damage and write a line-item repair estimate you can pass to your insurer. We can explain how that paperwork tends to go, but we aren't your adjuster and won't guess what a policy covers.
Does someone have to be home for the install?
Only at the beginning and the end. At the start we confirm the layout and the outlet with you, and at the finish we hand over the app and do a short walkthrough.
