Permanent Lighting Made Part of Your House
We install permanent exterior lighting. A slim aluminum channel goes right under the drip edge or along the fascia, and individually addressable LEDs sit inside it, aimed down and out instead of at the sky. We color-match the channel to your trim, so by day most neighbors won't see it. After dark you choose scenes, set schedules and switch colors from your phone, with no ladder involved.

Permanent Lighting
Low-profile LED track along your roofline that you control from your phone, for holidays, game days and everyday warm white, with no ladders each season.

Exterior Soft Wash
A low-pressure soft wash that lifts green algae, mildew and road grime from siding and trim while protecting paint, seals and fixtures.

Roof Treatments
A low-pressure treatment that kills moss, algae and lichen at the root and fades black streaks over the following weeks, with photos of your roof's condition.

Gutter Clearing
Hand-cleared gutters, flushed downspouts and clear photos of any damage, so water leaves your roofline the way it should.

Window Washing
Hand-washed glass, frames, sills and screens, plus photos and notes on any cracked panes or failed seals we spot along the way.

Lens and Track Care
We clean the lenses, track and mounting surfaces of permanent roofline lighting so the color stays true and the system holds up year after year.

How We Work on Your Home
A lighting system lives on your house for years, so we treat the install like trim carpentry, not decoration. Here is what that looks like in practice.
- We measure before we price
- Every quote starts with a walk around the house. We measure each run of roofline, note inside and outside corners, and check where power can reach the controller. Your estimate lists those runs line by line.
- Track that matches your trim
- We choose the channel color to sit against your fascia, whether that is white aluminum, a dark bronze or a painted wood board. Fasteners go into solid backing, and we seal every penetration.
- Help with the insurance side
- If ice, wind or a fallen limb damages your lights or the trim they sit on, we photograph what we find, describe it plainly and give you a written estimate you can share with your insurer. We explain how the process usually goes, but we are not the adjuster and we will not promise what your policy covers.
- A clean finish on install day
- Wiring runs are tucked behind gutters or trim, the controller is mounted neatly near an outlet, and we pick up every clip, scrap and wire end before we leave.
- You leave knowing the app
- Before we go, we set up your everyday white scene and a few holiday presets, then show you how to build your own schedules.
What Moves the Cost of Your Install
Every house has its own mix of eaves, peaks and corners, which is why we price from a tape measure rather than a chart. Your total depends on how much track the job needs, how easy each run is to reach and what shape the trim is in. These are the things we check during the walk-around.
Your free quote is a written, line-item estimate based on our measurements at your house. If something changes once we are on the ladder, we talk with you before doing any extra work.
- Linear footage
- The number of feet of roofline you want lit is the biggest driver. Many people start with the front of the house and add the sides or back later.
- Height and roof pitch
- A single-story ranch is quicker to reach than a two-story colonial with steep gables. Taller or steeper runs take more setup and more time on the ladder.
- Corners and gables
- Each inside corner, peak and return needs its own cut and connector. A busy roofline with dormers takes longer than one long straight run.
- Fascia and trim condition
- Track needs solid wood or metal behind it. If we find soft fascia or loose aluminum wrap, we show you photos and tell you before anything is mounted.
- Where the power comes from
- The controller plugs into an ordinary outlet. When that outlet sits close to where the lights begin, the wire is short and the work goes quickly. A longer route to power means more labor.
- Zones
- Splitting the house into separate zones, such as the garage and the main roofline, lets you light them differently and adds controller capacity.

How an Install Runs
Most homes go from first phone call to lit roofline in a few short steps, with very little disruption to your day.
- 1
A phone call and a visit
You call for a free quote and we set a time to come out. We walk the house with you, talk about which lines you want lit and measure every run.
- 2
Your written estimate
We send a line-item estimate showing footage, corners, zones and any trim repairs we noticed, with photos where they help.
- 3
Install day
We mount the track, seat the LEDs, run the wiring out of sight and mount the controller. Your yard and plantings are protected, and we test every section after dark when we can.
- 4
App setup and walkthrough
We connect the system to your phone, load a warm white scene and a few holiday looks, and show you how schedules work. Then the lights are yours to enjoy year-round.

About Lighting Contractor Halfmoon
We are a lighting contractor focused on one thing: permanent lighting that looks good on a home exterior in daylight and at night. We care about the small details people notice later, like straight runs, clean corners, hidden wiring and a track that disappears against the trim.
Upstate winters are hard on anything mounted at the roof edge. Snow slides, ice builds along the eaves and freeze-thaw cycles work at fasteners. We plan each install with that in mind, keeping the track tight under the drip edge and sealing every hole. When weather does cause damage, we document it carefully so you have clear photos and a written estimate to work from with your insurer.

What People Ask Us
Something not covered here? (518) 500-4995
Can you see the track in the daytime?
Barely. The channel is colored to match your fascia or trim and tucked close under the drip edge, so it looks like part of the house from the road. Most guests don't spot it until the lights are on.
Does snow coming off the roof pull the lights down?
The channel sits under the drip edge with the bulbs pointed down and out, so snow and meltwater slide past the fixtures rather than into them. We seal each fastener and wire entry as we install. A bad ice dam can still damage anything at the roof edge, and if it does, we photograph the damage and write it up for you.
Will you help if a storm damages the lights?
Yes. We look over the system and the trim it's mounted to, photograph it, record what we found and give you a line-item repair estimate to share with your insurer. We'll explain how the process tends to go, but coverage is your adjuster's call, and we won't say something is covered if we don't know.
Is there a warranty on the system?
Yes, the lights come with a 10-year product warranty. When we give you the estimate, we go over what it covers so you know before you make a decision.
Will I have to add an outlet?
Usually not. The controller plugs into a regular outdoor or garage outlet close to where the run starts. If power is a long way from where the lights begin, we go over the options and the wire route with you at the quote visit.
How are the lights controlled?
It's all run from an app on your phone. Use warm white for ordinary evenings, have them switch on at dusk, or change to color scenes for holidays, birthdays or game nights.
Is there any charge for the quote?
No. We visit, measure the roofline and hand you a written estimate for free. You're under no pressure to book and can compare at your own pace.
